SASSA Confirms No Double Grant Payments for June 2025: Official Statement

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially refuted circulating rumors about double grant payments in June 2025. Contrary to claims made in some online articles, including one from RiseUpWV, SASSA has clarified that there will be no additional or double disbursements this month.

No Double Payments Scheduled

SASSA spokesperson Paseka Letsatsi emphasized that reports suggesting double payments are unfounded and should be disregarded. He stated, “We appeal to our beneficiaries not to expect any double payment in June as stated in various fake news reports, particularly on social media platforms.”

The agency reiterated that the only grant increases announced were those made in the Ministry of Finance’s Policy Statement in March, which took effect in April. The next official increase is scheduled for October.

Beware of Misinformation

SASSA has expressed concern over the rapid spread of false information regarding grant payments. Beneficiaries are urged to rely solely on official SASSA communication channels for accurate updates. The agency warned that misleading posts, especially those circulating on social media, are designed to create panic and false hope among beneficiaries.

Official June 2025 Payment Dates

SASSA has released the official payment schedule for June 2025:

  • Older Persons Grant: Tuesday, 3 June
  • Disability Grant: Wednesday, 4 June
  • Children’s Grants: Thursday, 5 June

Beneficiaries can receive their grants through direct bank deposits, SASSA cards, or at authorized pay points. For safety reasons, SASSA advises beneficiaries not to withdraw all their grant money at once.
