In a move to tackle youth unemployment and enhance environmental resilience, President William Ruto has officially reintroduced the Kazi Mtaani jobs program. The announcement was made during the Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1, 2025. This time, the initiative is being rolled out under the Climate Resilience Service Program (CRSP) with a massive Ksh 5 billion funding from the Ministry of Roads.

Over 110,000 youth from 46 counties — excluding Nairobi — are expected to benefit from this government-led employment program.

How to Apply for Kazi Mtaani Jobs in 2025

Eligible applicants must submit their applications exclusively online. To apply, visit the official portal at https://www.crsp.go.ke. Click the “Register” tab and complete the form accurately.

Applicants will need to provide:

  • Full name (as per ID)
  • ID number or Maisha Card number
  • A registered M-Pesa mobile number
  • Date of birth, gender, and age
  • Location details: county, sub-county, ward, and village
  • Employment and education history
  • Disability status, if applicable
  • NYS experience, especially for supervisory applicants

Importantly, only one applicant per household is allowed to apply, and no physical forms will be accepted.

Kazi Mtaani Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be Kenyan citizens aged 18 to 35 years
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Reside in the areas targeted by the program
  • Be physically able and willing to do manual labour
  • Abide by the ethical standards of the program

Youth with NYS experience are encouraged to apply for supervisory roles, and preference will be given to those from marginalized or low-income backgrounds.

Payment and Work Schedule

Successful applicants will earn Ksh 500 per day, working in 10-day cycles. All payments will be made via M-Pesa, ensuring quick and secure disbursement. Only those who meet the eligibility criteria and provide accurate information will be shortlisted.

Notifications on recruitment steps and placements will be sent via SMS to the registered mobile numbers of successful applicants.
